Brief History

In 1956 a small group of believers had a vision for a congregation of the Church of Christ in Charlotte. They began meeting in the Masonic Lodge and within a relatively short time purchased the old Hovey School building on N. Cochran Road. In 1982 the church started a Christian school that served elementary ages. As the school grew with the congregation, it became necessary to relocate to a larger facility. The building that presently houses the church was opened in 1985 and sits on 11 acres at 1825 S. Cochran and continued also as a school until 2000.

The Future

The congregation is focused clearly on the future and in some ways is recreating itself with new strategies of community involvement and diverse educational and worship opportunities. This warm, friendly church is very dynamic and is experiencing revival and growth as new goals are continuously being developed and pursued. God is truly blessing the Charlotte Church of Christ and is faithful now as He has been throughout its history.
